“India has a huge number of mobile gamers and we are thrilled to launch our latest IP for them. The Skyesports Mobile Open will also have homegrown mobile esports titles as we continue our vision to grow the community from the grassroots level,” said Skyesports CEO Shiva Nandy.

“India is a mobile-first esports country and the viewership is continuing to grow. The talents coming out from non-metro cities are huge and our vision is to continue building from the grassroots levels in tier two and three cities by giving them a great platform like the Skyesports Mobile Open,” said Skyesports CMO Gnana Shekhar.

The Skyesports Mobile Open adds to a growing list of IPs by the company. This includes the Skyesports Championship, Skyesports Grand Slam, Skyesports League, Skyesports Gaming Series, and more.

More details about the tournament will be revealed soon. Mobile gamers are a huge audience for Skyesports and the ongoing AMD Ryzen Skyesports Championship 3.0 is indicative of that. The BGMI Grand Finals in the championship, where 18 of India’s best teams are competing, has achieved a peak viewership of over 223,000 viewers across all streams.

“With such viewership numbers, launching the Skyesports Mobile Open was a no-brainer for us,” added Nandy.
