Mobile Premier League's (MPL) Mayhem Studios appears to soon launch a Battle Royale mobile gaming in India. One of the popular mobile esports platforms in the country, unicorn MPL, recently announced the launch of Mayhem Studios which aims to develop AAA games for both the Indian and global markets. MPL has recently acquired Germany-based GameDuell to foray into Europe.
An image that is doing rounds on the internet gives a sneak peek into the company's plans. The picture first reported by the Times of India shows a man, wearing a striped Lungi and carrying an AK47, striding amidst a distinctly Indian landscape. The image hints that the first title to be produced by Mayhem Studios is likely to be a Battle Royale game set in India.
The landscape and the character's Indian attire make it quite clear that players will get some prominent Indian elements in the game. MPL officially has not confirmed the upcoming game so far. With this, Mayhem Studios will be among the first studios in India to launch a AAA Battle Royale game title set in India.
MPL recently signed an MOU with the Telangana government to set up a 500-seater game development centre in the state capital. The centre will be located in the upcoming IMAGE tower. The gaming unicorn will also work with Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) to introduce special game development, animation and sport-focused courses to enhance the availability of talent pool in the State.
