iQOO partners with Krafton for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series esports tournament in India

In line with its commitment to promote Esports in India, iQOO on Wednesday announced its exclusive partnership with Krafton for its first-ever Battlegrounds Mobile India Series.

As a part of the partnership, iQOO will be the title sponsor for this tournament which is going to be the biggest Battle Royale Esports event in the country. The tournament is expected to witness close to 100k registrations competing for prize money of Rs 1 crore. Let’s have a closer look at the esports tournament and the new partnership.

According to a recent industry report by App Annie and KPMG, the number of mobile game downloads in India reached 5.5 billion capturing 22% of the global share between January – July 2021.

The trend is further expected to grow with a 53% hike in the number of gaming enthusiasts joining the smartphone gaming sector by 2025. In line with the growing trend, iQOO aims to provide a platform for potential professional gamers to showcase their best game-streaming talent.

Players registered for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 will have to participate in the in-game qualifiers from which 1024 teams will proceed to Round 1. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to watch and enjoy the talent and gamesmanship of all players on social media handles of BGMI and in Esports’ official YouTube Channel.

Recently, iQOO introduced its iQOO Z5 that features segment-best performance, high-performance camera technology, impressive smartphone gaming experience, and strong hardware specifications for the Gen-Z consumers. However, the companies are yet to reveal which model is going to be part of the esports tournament when the top players make it to the semi-finals.
